Job summary

The NEEDS Center is hiring Direct Care Support Professionals in Methuen, MA to assist adults with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible. Roles include personal care, daily living support, and participation in therapeutic programs.

Entry-level positions offer training and opportunities for growth within a supportive nonprofit environment. Pay ranges from $20.00 to $21.00 per hour, with a $1,500 sign-on bonus for full-time hires ($750 at hire and $750 after 6 months).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Ability and willingness to provide hands-on personal care to adults with developmental disabilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication with coworkers and supported individuals.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Willingness to work as part of a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to adults with autism and developmental disabilities.
• Help residents develop daily living skills such as grooming, dressing, cooking, and cleaning.
• Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Implement clinical, educational and vocational programs.
• Observe and record data for programs in Individual and Behavior Support Plans.
• Collaborate with team to create a therapeutic community.

Direct Support Professional ~ $21/hr + sign-on bonus!

The NEEDS Center is a growing non-profit organization and right now we have 8 openings for Direct Care Support Professionals who will assist and support adults with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible while enjoying all aspects of Community Living. This is a role where you can truly make a difference in the lives of others.

• Full-time and Part-time positions available in our residential home in Methuen, MA.
• These positions are primarily either second shift, overnights, and/or weekends.

These are entry-level jobs with great potential for career growth--and training is provided!

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour (Pay based on experience and MAP Certification.)

Responsibilities include:

• Providing direct personal care to adults with autism and supporting them in their daily routines.
• Supporting residents in developing daily living skills, such as personal grooming, dressing, cooking, and cleaning.
• Performing light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment, including cleaning common areas and ensuring personal spaces are tidy.
• Implement clinical, educational and vocational programs.
• Observe and record data for programs established in their Individual and Behavior support plans.
• Participate with other team members to create a therapeutic environment that includes regular community membership.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred (but not necessary)
• Experience with behavior management preferred (but not necessary)
• Ability and willingness to provide hands-on personal care to adults with developmental disabilities.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form with co-workers and supported individuals. Must be able to read fluently.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
