Job summary

Umbrella Functional Consulting & Support Team is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to join our leadership team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities through personalized care and support.

In this role you will provide direct care, assist with daily living activities, document progress, transport clients to activities, and collaborate with families and the care team. We value empathy, reliability, and person-centered approaches.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• ODP Direct Support Professional Certification preferred.
• Experience in human services or IDD support is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with IDD.
• Assist clients with personal hygiene, meal prep, medication management, and routines.
• Implement ISPs and document progress accurately.
• Transport and accompany clients to activities, appointments, and events.
• Foster independence through positive reinforcement and person-centered approaches.
• Communicate with supervisors, families, and care team about client needs.
• Respond to behavioral challenges following established protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD)
• Assist clients with personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication management, and daily routines
• Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
• Transport and accompany clients to community activities, appointments, and social events
• Foster independence and skill-building through positive reinforcement and person-centered approaches
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members regarding client needs and progress
• Respond appropriately to behavioral challenges and crisis situations following established protocols

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; experience in human services, caregiving, or IDD support preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• ODP Direct Support Professional Certification
• Ability to pass background checks, including PA State Police and FBI clearances
• Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and person-centered approach
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Ability to lift, assist, and support clients with mobility needs as required
