Job summary

LIFE, Inc. - Edenton is hiring a Direct Support Professional to assist and monitor clients in daily living activities, meals, self-care, and community outings.

This part-time position offers a wage of $17.50 per hour, with benefits such as medical insurance, paid time off, retirement plan, longevity bonus, and growth opportunities. Shift options include 1st and 2nd shifts; you will work with an interdisciplinary team following established safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
• NC Driver's License required.
• 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist and monitor clients during dressing, bathing, toileting, and other self-care activities.
• Assist and monitor clients during meals to ensure family-style dining.
• Assist and monitor clients with housekeeping tasks including clothing care, cleaning, and yard care.
• Assist and monitor clients in preparing meals and nutritional supplements.
• Assist and monitor clients with administration of prescribed medication.
• Assist and monitor clients with diet orders and adaptive equipment usage.
• Implement and follow behavior programs, data collection, and safety procedures.
• Support clients in active treatment, track progress, and help meet service goals.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and communicate client information to supervisors.
• Transport and monitor clients using company vehicles.
• Assist and monitor clients during community outings.
• Assist and monitor clients during school and day program activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Shift Details: 1st and 2nd Part Time

Responsibilities

• Assist and monitor clients while dressing, bathing, toileting, and in all other aspects of self-care.
• Assist and monitor clients during meals to ensure utilization of family style dining.
• Assist and monitor clients in all aspects of housekeeping responsibilities (Clothing care, house cleaning, and yard care).
• Assist and monitor clients in preparing meals and nutritional supplements.
• Assist and monitor clients in the administration of prescribed medication without error.
• Assist and monitor clients in the implementation of prescribed diet orders and utilization of adaptive equipment
• Implement and follow all established behavior programs, data collection, and established safety procedures.
• Assist and monitor clients in appropriate active treatment including training objective plans, recording data, and implementing service goals.
• Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team and to communicate appropriate clients information as directed by supervisory staff.
• Transport and monitor clients on Company vehicles as directed.
• Assist and monitor clients during community outings.
• Assist and monitor clients during participation at school and day program activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
