Merakey is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for our Stockton, CA program. DSPs support individuals with IDD/MH in homes and community settings, implement behavior plans, assist with daily living, and promote independence while safeguarding health and safety.

Pay ranges from $24.00 to $26.00 per hour, with potential to earn up to $26 after RBT certification. We offer extensive benefits and non-profit mission alignment.

Pay:

$24.00-$26.00 per hour

Earn up to $26 once you have received your RBT – Registered Behavioral Technician certification.

Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in homes, community settings, and Adult Training Facilities. This role serves individuals with complex behavioral needs, including severe aggression, property destruction, self-injurious behaviors, and crisis situations. DSPs implement behavior support plans, assist with personal care and daily living activities, promote community engagement, and help individuals build independence while ensuring their health, safety, dignity, and well-being. Successful candidates are compassionate, resilient, and able to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

Requirements

Education/License/Certification(s):

• High school diploma or GED
• Certification-Registered Behavior Technician or licensed psychiatric technician; or become a registered behavior technician within twelve months of initial employment.

DSP 1 and DSP 2 Certification – Required within 12 months of hire.

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification – Required within 12 months of hire.

Merakey will provide access to the necessary training and support to help employees meet the RBT, DSP1 & DSP2 requirements. RBT, DSP1 & DSP2 must be completed within 1 year of hire.

• 6 months experience working with IDD/MH population or equivalent
• Dual Diagnose experience is a PLUS!

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: (Please list other job requirements)

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license, if required
• Ability to read, speak, write and comprehend the English language
• Must have desire to help others reach their fullest potential
• Completes PPD testing and Physical Examination upon hire and minimally every 2 years thereafter, if required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed
• Ability to model, teach, and encourage socially-acceptable behaviors as needed
