Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with IDD in their homes and communities in Salisbury, NC. This part-time role offers flexible shifts on weekdays, evenings, and weekends, with essential training provided and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living tasks, personal care, and transportation, along with documentation in an electronic health record system.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position; on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety knowledge are preferred.
• Strong communication and dependable work ethic are essential.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or willingness to learn is expected.
• DSPs must have reliable transportation and current auto insurance.

• Provide care in the home and community setting.
• Assist with daily tasks: housekeeping, meals, dressing, bathing; provide personal care.
• Transport client to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize the client's schedule.
• Document daily activities and reports in the electronic health record system.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a critical role in carrying out that mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals.

Position details: Part time hours: flexible for weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Location: Salisbury, NC.

Compensation: $12-18/hr.

Your Role in Our Mission

• You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing; and employment support
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands
• Help plan and organize their schedule
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record
