Job summary

3M’s Services LLC is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate care for individuals with developmental disabilities and other needs in North Carolina.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalized support, maintain safety, and promote independence in daily activities and community participation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications or education in social work, nursing, or related fields is a plus.
• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and the ability to implement them effectively.
• A valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation and insurance to travel to client homes or community events.
• Ability to lift and transfer individuals as needed, and work physically demanding tasks.
• Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life.
• A compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor with a strong commitment to care.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care: assist with daily living activities, meal prep, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
• De-escalation management: implement strategies to foster positive behaviors and reduce challenging ones.
• Empower participation: support engagement in social and recreational activities.

Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Duties & Responsibilities:

As aDirect Support Professional (DSP), you will be a crucial part of our mission by delivering personalized, compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. Your role will include:

• Providing direct care : Assist individuals with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
• De-escalation Management : Implement strategies that foster positive behaviors and reduce challenging ones, helping individuals thrive in a safe environment.
• Empowering Participation : Support individuals in engaging in social and recreational activities that enhance their quality of life.
• Collaboration : Work hand-in-hand with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans tailored to each person's needs.
• Documentation : Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, progress, and goals to ensure individuals receive the best care possible.
