Job summary

3M’s Services LLC in North Carolina is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide residential support to individuals with I/DD and mental health needs. You will assist with daily living activities, promote independence, and maintain a safe home.

As a DSP, you will document care notes, follow individualized plans, and work with a supportive team to ensure continuity of care. Prior experience is preferred, and a valid driver’s license is helpful for community activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with individuals with I/DD or mental health needs preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to complete background screenings and agency training.
• Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid and medication administration certifications as required.
• Strong communication, dependability, and organizational skills.

• Direct Care: Assist members with personal hygiene, grooming, meals, daily routines and activities of daily living.
• Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed when trained and authorized.

• Documentation: Complete daily service notes, medication records, and shift reports.
• Team Collaboration: Communicate with supervisors and team members to ensure continuity of care.

As a Group Home DSP, you will assist members with daily living activities, promote independence, maintain a safe and supportive home environment, and ensure assigned shift responsibilities are completed.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Care: Assist members with personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, daily routines, and other activities of daily living.
• Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed when properly trained and authorized, following agency procedures.
• Member Safety: Provide appropriate supervision, monitor member well-being, and maintain a safe residential environment.
• Household Responsibilities: Complete assigned shift duties, including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining an organized home.
• Behavioral Support: Implement individualized support plans, positive behavioral strategies, and appropriate de-escalation techniques.
• Community Engagement: Encourage independence and assist members with appointments, recreational activities, and community participation.
• Documentation: Complete accurate daily service notes, medication records, shift reports, and required documentation.
• Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure continuity of care.
