Job summary

Addus HomeCare in Roan Mountain, TN is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently. This entry-level role offers flexible hours and the chance to grow within a mission-driven company.

You will follow care plans, assist with personal care, light housekeeping, transportation, and support the self-administration of medications (no dosing). Strong communication and reliability are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; one year in-home care experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills; reliable, energetic, self-motivated and well-organized.
• Comfortable using an electronic device.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring).
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.

DSP Responsibilities
