Job summary

Addus HomeCare is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently at home. This entry-level role offers flexible hours and the chance to learn the fundamentals of quality home care while contributing to meaningful client outcomes.

Responsibilities include following care plans, assisting with personal care, light housekeeping, transportation to appointments, and medications support (no administration).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of in-home care services experience.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills.
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated, and well-organized.
• Comfortable using an electronic device.

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring).
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.

DSP Responsibilities
