Job summary

Ability Beyond is seeking a Direct Support Floater in Brookfield, CT. You will support adults with diverse needs in residential and community settings, helping them build life skills and stay active in their communities.

You will provide daily living assistance, personal care, transportation, and engagement in social activities while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure well-rounded care and progress tracking.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in a care support role.
• Ability to support adults with intellectual, developmental, physical, and behavioral health needs.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
• Assist with personal care, including bathing, toileting, and medication reminders as needed.
• Support individuals in developing independent living skills like budgeting, communication, and meal planning.
• Provide transportation to medical appointments, errands, and community outings.
• Encourage participation in social, recreational, and volunteer activities.
• Implement behavioral support strategies and de-escalation techniques when needed.
• Collaborate with nurses, behaviorists, nutritionists, and other clinical team members to provide well-rounded care.
• Assist with goal planning, progress tracking, and skill development.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and daily activities.

Pay Rate: $21 per hour Locations : Multiple programs across the Greater Danbury Area Schedule: Guaranteed set full time schedules available including first, second, and third shifts!

What You Will Do

• Provide hands on support with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, dressing, and mobility

• Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and daily activities

What You Will Need
