Job summary

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) role at Youniverse Living is a full-time, on-site position serving the Omaha Metropolitan Area. Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge or experience in Human Services.
• Requires 19 years of age and ability to pass background checks (criminal, adult/child abuse neglect).
• Impactful qualifications include a HS diploma or equivalent; prior DSP/caregiver experience; reliable transportation; ability to meet physical demands; willingness to complete background checks and certifications (First Aid/CPR).

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living: personal care, dressing, bathing, and meal preparation to promote maximum independence.
• Implement individualized service plans and monitor changes in individuals’ needs.
• Provide safe and engaging companionship at home and in the community; support community participation.
• Document services and collaborate with supervisors, families, and other team members to ensure consistent, person-centered care.
• Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized environment; follow safety and reporting procedures.

Role Description: The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is a full-time, on-site role based in the Omaha Metropolitan Area, providing individualized support to people receiving HCBS services. In this role, the DSP assists with activities of daily living such as personal care, dressing, bathing, and meal preparation, while encouraging maximum independence. Daily responsibilities include implementing individualized service plans, offering medication reminders, supporting community participation, and providing safe and engaging companionship at home and in the community. The DSP helps maintain a clean and organized environment through light housekeeping tasks and follows established safety and reporting procedures. This position also involves documenting services, monitoring changes in individuals’ needs, and collaborating with supervisors, families, and other team members to ensure consistent, person-centered care.

Qualifications:

• Candidates should possess foundational knowledge or experience in Human Services, including working with individuals receiving home and community-based supports.
• Candidates must be 19 years of age, able to pass a criminal background check, Adult and child abuse/neglect screening.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; prior experience as a DSP, caregiver, or in a similar support role; reliable transportation; ability to meet physical demands of direct care; and willingness to complete background checks and certifications (such as first aid/CPR).
