Job summary

May Institute is seeking a Direct Support Professional for our children's residential program in Randolph and Norwood, MA. You will assist with daily routines, support independence, and collaborate with clinical teams to implement individualized plans for children aged 3–21 with autism and developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Patience, compassion, and the ability to support children with diverse communication and behavioral needs.
• Experience with children or individuals with special needs is preferred.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in our residential program, you’ll help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can grow, thrive, and achieve greater independence.

What You'll Do

• Support children with daily routines including hygiene, meals, dressing, and medication.
• Create a positive, structured environment that encourages communication, play, and skill-building.
• Use behavior support strategies to promote emotional regulation and reduce challenging behavior.
• Partner with clinical, educational, and healthcare teams to support individualized treatment plans.
• Provide transportation and community integration support for outings, appointments, and school transitions.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid and current U.S. driver’s license with at least 1 year of licensed driving experience.
• Patience, compassion, and the ability to support children with diverse communication and behavioral needs.
• Experience with children or individuals with special needs preferred.
