Job summary

STAR, Inc., based in Norwalk, CT, is seeking dependable, compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities build skills, participate in their communities, and pursue greater independence.

You don't need years of experience—just a positive attitude, reliability, and a teamwork mindset. A high school diploma and a valid driver's license are preferred as we support individuals in daily living and community activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals with daily living activities and personal care needs
• Helping prepare meals and encouraging healthy routines
• Assisting with feeding when necessary
• Teaching and reinforcing practical life skills
• Supporting participation in recreational, social, and community activities
• Encouraging individuals to make choices and develop greater independence
• Providing support during appointments, outings, and other activities
• Creating a positive, respectful, and welcoming environment

What Does a DSP Do?

Every day can look different for a Direct Support Professional.

Your Responsibilities May Include

• Supporting individuals with daily living activities and personal care needs
