Job summary

3M’s Services LLC is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate, individualized care to individuals with developmental disabilities and other needs in North Carolina. You will work as part of a mission-driven team delivering everyday support, advocacy, and empowerment.

The role emphasizes direct care tasks, safety, de-escalation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the client’s quality of life and independence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications or education in social work, nursing, or related fields is a plus.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and the ability to implement them effectively.
• Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation and insurance to travel to client homes or community events.
• Ability to lift and transfer individuals as needed, and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care: assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
• Apply de-escalation techniques to foster positive behaviors and safety in the living environment.
• Empower participation: support social and recreational activities to improve quality of life.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and goals.

Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Duties & Responsibilities:

As aDirect Support Professional (DSP), you will be a crucial part of our mission by delivering personalized, compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. Your role will include:

• Providing direct care: Assist individuals with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
• De-escalation Management: Implement strategies that foster positive behaviors and reduce challenging ones, helping individuals thrive in a safe environment.
• Empowering Participation: Support individuals in engaging in social and recreational activities that enhance their quality of life.
• Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans tailored to each person's needs.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, progress, and goals to ensure individuals receive the best care possible.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GEDrequired; additional certifications or education in social work, nursing, or related fields is a plus.
• Previous experienceworking with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of behavior managementtechniques and the ability to implement them effectively.
• Avalid Driver's Licensewith reliable transportation and insurance to travel to client homes or community events.
• Ability to lift and transfer individualsas needed, and work physically demanding tasks (specific lifting requirements may vary).
• Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life.
• A compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor: Your heart should be as strong as your commitment to providing care.
• Familiarity with HIPAAregulations and maintaining confidentiality.
