Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Providing direct care: Assist individuals with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
• De‑escalation Management: Implement strategies that foster positive behaviors and reduce challenging ones, helping individuals thrive in a safe environment.
• Empowering Participation: Support individuals in engaging in social and recreational activities that enhance their quality of life.
• Collaboration: Work hand‑in‑hand with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans tailored to each person's needs.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, progress, and goals to ensure individuals receive the best care possible.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications or education in social work, nursing, or related fields is a plus.
• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and the ability to implement them effectively.
• Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation and insurance to travel to client homes or community events.
• Ability to lift and transfer individuals as needed, and work physically demanding tasks (specific lifting requirements may vary).
• Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor: Your heart should be as strong as your commitment to providing care.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality.
