Job summary

Addus HomeCare in Morristown, TN seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to learn the fundamentals of quality home care and deliver life-changing service to clients. This entry-level role offers flexible hours and a pathway to a meaningful career with a growing, values-driven organization.

As a DSP you will follow care plans, assist with personal care, help with meals and light housekeeping, transport clients to appointments, and monitor client condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of in-home care experience.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills.
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated, and well-organized.
• Comfortable using an electronic device.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring).
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.

DSP Responsibilities
