Job summary

Addus HomeCare in Rockwood, TN is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently at home. This entry-level role offers flexible hours and a path to learn quality home care while joining a growing, value-driven organization.

You will follow care plans, assist with personal care, light housekeeping, transportation, and report any changes in condition. Pay is up to $15.68/hr.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year in-home care experience preferred.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance; reliable transportation.
• Ability to follow written/verbal instructions with limited supervision.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Comfortable using an electronic device.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring)
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.

DSP Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.

DSP Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and one year of in-home care services experience
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation, required for member transportation. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance is required.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated, and well-organized
• Comfortable using an electronic device.
