Job summary

Hope Learning Center is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for its new Adult Services program in Mars, PA. The role involves direct care and supervision for adults with intellectual disabilities and autism in home and community settings.

There are full- and part-time opportunities with daytime hours, and no evenings or weekends required. The DSP provides daily living support, helps with goal achievement, follows ISPs and safety protocols, and works with families and a multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to pass all required background checks and clearances.
• Experience working with IDD or Severe Mental Illness (Preferred)
• Experience in human services, caregiving, or direct support (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily living skills, community integration, and personal goal achievement.
• Promote individual choice, dignity, and respect in all interactions.
• Implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and Behavior Support Plans as trained.
• Assist individuals in participating in community outings, employment, and enrichment activities.
• Complete daily service documentation and incident reports accurately and timely.
• Ensure the safety, health, and welfare of individuals at all times.
• Support individuals with daily life skill including personal hygiene, communication, and expectations.
• Remain calm under stressful situations with individuals.
• Administer medication and support health maintenance as required (with training).
• Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Participate in ongoing training and staff development programs.

Position Summary

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) at Hope Adult Center are responsible for providing direct care, support, and supervision to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism in both home and community settings. • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
• Act 34 Criminal History Clearance
• Act 168 Clearance (if applicable)
• Mandated Reporter Certification (Child & Adult)
• CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License (preferred/required based on role)

Additional Requirements and Legal Information

• This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for overtime pay.
• This role must comply with all applicable regulations and training requirements under 55 Pa. Code 6100 and guidance from Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs.
• Employees must complete all required training and demonstrate competency as outlined by regulatory standards.
