Job Summary

We are looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. DSPs provide individually-focused compassionate care and assistance to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and/or mental health challenges. The DSP encourages growth toward independence in activities of daily living, socialization, community involvement, and support in expressing choices.

The ideal candidate has a caring heart, detail-oriented, creative, and committed to creating a healthy environment that meets client needs. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Prior Direct Support or Home Health Aide experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Improve and respect the lives of individuals with physical, mental, and developmental disabilities
• Assist in the implementation of individual plans and behavioral plan goals
• Update individual case notes daily with feedback regarding strengths, skills, and performance needs
• Help individuals develop appropriate social, behavioral, housekeeping, and daily life skills
• Assist with daily living activities, including preparing meals and assisting with personal hygiene
• Assist individuals in pursuing recreational, social, and community activities based on preferences and goals
• Provide supervision and guidance for individuals during skill-building activities
• Encourage individuals in establishing social networks
• Develop rapport and cultivate a safe, supportive relationship
• Ensure individuals’ rights are protected

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and acceptable motor vehicle record preferred
• Must pass Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check and drug test
• Possess or be able to acquire certification in First Aid and CPR

Location

This position serves a young man in Conshohocken. Hours: Monday 1 pm–5:30 pm, Tuesday–Thursday 2 pm–5:30 pm. A valid driver’s license and a registered, inspected, and insured vehicle are required.

Pay Range

Up to $17 or more, depending on experience. Compensation: $17.00 per hour.
