Job summary

Community Services, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional for a part-time swing shift in Gresham, OR. The role supports individuals with daily living activities, promotes independence, and documents progress.

The schedule is Thursday through Saturday, 1:30 PM to 9:30 PM, totaling 24 hours per week. The ideal candidate is patient, caring, dependable, and passionate about helping others. Prior experience with disabilities is valued, but training is provided to develop the necessary skills

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• No experience required—training provided.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal prep, and routines.
• Encourage choice, self-advocacy, and independence.
• Support development of life skills for greater independence.
• Build respectful, person-centered relationships based on dignity and trust.

Your Role:

• Support individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, household routines, and community involvement.
• Encourage choice, decision-making, self-advocacy, and confidence in everyday activities.
• Assist individuals in developing and strengthening life skills that promote greater independence.
• Build positive, respectful relationships based on dignity, trust, and person-centered support.
• Help create safe, inclusive, and supportive environments both at home and in the community.
• Encourage and support participation in social, recreational, and community activities.
• Follow and help implement individualized support plans while accurately documenting progress and services provided.
• Communicate effectively with families, team members, and other professionals to promote consistent, coordinated support.
• Provide encouragement and assistance while respecting each person’s goals, preferences, abilities, and right to make choices about their own life.
• Complete all required daily documentation and record keeping accurately and in a timely manner.
• Follow all applicable regulations, organizational policies, procedures, and standards related to providing services and support to individuals with disabilities.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age

• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record preferred for day and swing positions
