Job summary

Merakey is seeking Caregivers/DSPs for our Chico, CA program. You will provide personal care, assist with daily living activities, light housekeeping, meal prep, and companionship to individuals with developmental disabilities in home or community settings.

We value compassion, reliability, and a valid driver's license. Pay starts at $17.50/hour with a $2/night shift differential for overnight work, and a comprehensive benefits package is available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Active and valid driver's license.
• Experience with activities of daily living (ADLs) preferred.
• Prior caregiving/home health aide experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to clients in their homes.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal hygiene needs including toileting, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Light housekeeping, meal preparation and feeding, and companionship.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers and range-of-motion exercises.
• Help maintain a safe home environment and engage clients in activities.
• Engage clients in games, reading, and day program activities.

Job Description

• Provide the personal care and support to clients who live in the home
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal hygiene needs including toileting and incontinence care, bathing, dressing, and grooming, while maintaining dignity and privacy.
• Light housekeeping, meal preparation and feeding, and companionship
• Help with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises
• Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways
• Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading and attending day program

Earn $17.50 per hour. Plus a $2 per hour night shift differential if working overnight.

Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) interact and support our individuals with development disabilities in a variety of potential settings including community, family or individual homes and generic community settings. We provide a level of care that enhances the health, safety, dignity and contentment of every consumer served by assisting and training individuals in the areas of personal care, communication, and social skill development. This position provides direct support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities with co-occurring medical support needs in a residential setting.
