Merakey is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in New Jersey to join an extraordinary team. The role involves guiding residents in daily living activities, fostering independence, and mentoring teammates, under supervision. Immediate openings with comprehensive benefits are offered.

The pay starts at $19.13/hr, with Enhanced Pay at $21.13/hr, plus a robust benefits package and growth opportunities within a nonprofit provider of developmental and behavioral health services.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• At least 1 year experience with people with developmental disabilities.
• Dual Diagnosis experience preferred.
• NADD DSP Certification training within first year.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities.
• Encourage independence and personal care.
• Support housekeeping and laundry tasks.
• Monitor residents and report observations to supervisor.
• Provide mentoring and coaching to residents.

Pay Rate- $19.13/hr or $21.13 with the selection of Enhanced Pay

Our ideal DSP candidate will have a strong desire to create long-term impacts on their individuals lives and enjoy encouraging, mentoring, and coaching others to achieve their goals. Be a part of fostering a true sense of pride in your individual by teaching them to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry. Your work is performed in accordance with appropriate procedures under the supervision of the House Manager who reviews results through living area observation of activities in progress, residents’ responsiveness, inspection of living area, reports, and periodic meetings. Make a difference in the life of those you work with to enhance their independence by assisting with daily and personal activities.
