Job summary

Rock Creek is seeking a Direct Support Professional - Personal Supports Counselor in Silver Spring to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live more independently. You will assist with daily living activities, provide emotional support, and encourage community involvement in a compassionate, person-centered way.

This role requires a valid driver's license, access to a vehicle, and prior experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver’s license with no more than 3 points and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
• Must have proof of car insurance.
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of two years’ experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• Must be able to work individually and in a team, and multi-task.
• Ability to work with high-risk individuals with mental illnesses as well as developmental or intellectual disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation from Silver Spring and support social integration.
• Help build independent living habits and accompany clients to local gym.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and compassionate communication.
