Job summary

QSAC in New York City and Long Island seeks a Habilitation Specialist (DSP) to support individuals with autism within a residential program. You will work to promote independence by building daily living skills and community integration, following the DSP Code of Ethics.

The role offers a flexible schedule including mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnights, and weekends, with potential overnight outings. Prior DSP experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• Driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety and welfare of individuals.
• Safeguard confidentiality of individuals and families.
• Assist individuals to develop and maintain relationships.
• Promote health, safety and emotional well-being of individuals.
• Support person-centered approaches and respect preferences, culture, and strengths.
• Collaborate with others to help individuals lead self-directed lives.
• Follow established treatment plans.
• Communicate effectively with individuals and team.
• Transport individuals in agency vehicles as needed.
