YAI seeks Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in New York. You will support daily activities, implement behavior support plans, document progress, and maintain safety and dignity at all times.

Responsibilities include teamwork with clinicians, adherence to HIPAA, and participation in training to ensure high-quality care and community integration for individuals supported.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to document services for billing and tracking.
• Basic computer skills; ability to use email and Workday/DA/eMAR systems.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain SCIP-R within 1 year of appointment.
• Must obtain/maintain program-specific certifications (e.g., AMAP, CPR, etc.) within 1 year as required.
• Ability to develop professional relationships and stay calm in high-energy environments.

Responsabilités

• Assist individuals to maximize strengths, interests, and abilities with personal rights and empathetic support.
• Support individuals to meet personal goals and engage in social activities, using person-first language and building community connections.
• Supervise, protect, and care for individuals; follow program guidelines and escalate potential harm per BSPs/IPOPs/Life Plans.
• Provide health, wellness, safety supervision and crisis management per policies and regulations.
• Deliver support per individualized service and behavior support plans; apply OPWDD Core Competencies.
• Implement Behavior Support Plans written by BIS; collect and summarize data on observable behavior.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and proper infection control; document progress notes and incidents.
• Complete trainings and certifications; attend team meetings and communicate needs; participate in treatment plan development.
• Transport individuals as needed with appropriate credentials; cover shifts to maintain minimum program coverage.
