YAI is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Bayside, Queens, to provide direct care and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across homes and community settings.

The role requires delivering ADL assistance, safety oversight, and collaboration on treatment plans while participating in community integration and documentation. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with potential DSP 2 experience and a NY driver’s license depending on position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Work or life experience in the I/DD field is a plus (DSP 1).
• For DSP 2, 1–2 years in the I/DD field might be required.
• NY State Driver’s License may be required depending on the position.
• Tuberculosis test is mandatory for most positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care services including ADLs and related supports.
• Ensure health, safety, and wellness of the people supported.
• Assist with intimate care functions and build positive relationships.
• Participate in development of treatment plans and crisis intervention.
• Complete mandatory trainings and documentation for compliance and billing.

Education
