Job summary

Opportunity House is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for Community Day Services, Monday–Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. A $1000 sign-on bonus is offered for full-time hires.

You will support clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a classroom setting, promoting independence and community participation. The DSP helps with daily living skills, safety, documentation, and teamwork with staff, families, and agencies.

Qualifications

• Be registered as a Direct Support Professional within three months of employment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for clients’ health, safety and well-being.
• Teach daily living skills and personal care in a classroom setting.
• Provide support to foster independence and employment skills.
• Maintain a safe classroom and teach home/community safety procedures.
• Coordinate transportation and assist with medical appointments when needed.
