Job summary

WWARC seeks a Direct Support Intern–Per Diem Direct Support Professional in Albany, NY to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential and day habilitation settings. The role is supervised and per diem, with a $17.00 hourly pay rate and shifts that vary by program need.

The intern will join a team dedicated to daily wellbeing and safety, participate in training, and may represent the agency at job fairs and recruitment events when available.

Qualifications

• High school students who are 16/17 or current high school students who are 16/17/18.
• NYS working papers required for 16/17 years old.
• Experience or interest in working with people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities is required.
• Must communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must successfully complete all pre-screening and training requirements required by regulation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily well-being and safety of individuals in a residential or day habilitation setting.
• Work under supervision of fully qualified staff at all times.
• Act as an ambassador at job fairs and recruitment events when available.
