Job summary

Active Day in Woodsfield, OH is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide vocational, recreational and social skills support to adults with developmental disabilities at our day program centers. You will assist with daily living activities, transportation and meals while maintaining a caring, safe and uplifting environment.

The role requires clear communication, reliability and the ability to multi-task.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CPR and First Aid Certification required.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Good communication and ability to mentor others.
• Valid driver's license if driving is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise member productivity and ensure quality of work according to customer requirements.
• Actively assist and encourage members in recreation, leisure activities, and community inclusion.
• Assist members with activities of daily living and personal care as needed.
• Participate in planning, facilitation and documentation of individual behavior support plans.
• May intervene in crisis situations following approved strategies.
• Maintain program areas, supplies and equipment in safe, clean condition.
• Communicate positively with members, families, coworkers and community.
• Attend staff meetings and collaborate with cross-functional team.
