Active Day in Naperville, IL seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide vocational, recreational, leisure and social skills support to adults with developmental disabilities at our day program centers.

You will assist with activities of daily living, transportation, meals, and help maintain a clean, uplifting environment while modeling a positive, dependable attitude and promoting health and happiness for members and caregivers alike.

Qualifikationen

• Strong communication and engaging interpersonal skills; able to teach and mentor others.
• Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Employment is contingent upon background check and state-specific regulatory requirements.
• Requires CPR and First Aid Certification.

Aufgaben

• Supervise member productivity and ensure quality of work per customer requirements.
• Actively assist members in recreation, leisure activities, and community inclusion.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care as needed; provide emotional support.
• Participate in planning, facilitation and documentation of behavior support plans.
• Intervene in crisis situations using approved strategies and techniques as needed.
• Maintain safe, clean, stocked program areas and equipment; may involve animal care where required.
• Communicate positively with members, families, co-workers, and referral agencies.
• Attend staff meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance member experience.
• Comply with company policies, safety and regulatory standards.
