Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide vocational, recreational, leisure and social skills support for adults with developmental disabilities at our day program centers in New Philadelphia, Ohio. You will help with daily living activities, transportation, meals, and maintain a positive, safe environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR/First Aid, a valid driver’s license if driving, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license if driving.
• CPR and First Aid Certification required.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with transfers.
• Background check and state regulatory requirements may apply.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Supervise member productivity and ensure quality of work delivered per requirements.
• Encourage participation in recreation, leisure activities, and community inclusion.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care as needed.
• Document and assist in planning behavior support plans.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well‑supplied program areas.
