Job summary

Washington State Department of Social and Health Services – SOLA DDA in Spokane Valley is hiring Attendant Counselor 2 to provide direct support and teach daily living skills to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes.

You will coach and mentor clients, assist with personal care and household tasks, support community participation, monitor behavior using individualized plans, and document care in electronic systems. Day and Swing shifts are available; on-site work only.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED with one year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
• Alternative: HS diploma and one year of experience as Attendant Counselor 1 or higher is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Coach, teach, and mentor individuals with intellectual disabilities
• Teach and assist with daily living skills, personal care, and household tasks
• Provide positive behavior supports based on individual needs
• Implement Individual Support Plan programs, services, and activities
• Accompany or transport clients to appointments and community activities
• Build positive relationships and support community integration
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive home environment
• Collect, document, and report information related to client needs and home management
• Use electronic data systems to maintain client records and required documentation
