Overview

The Arc San Francisco is a non-profit service and advocacy organization for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in San Francisco, Marin, and San Mateo counties. We provide a range of services to support independent living, employment training, and community participation, with a focus on self-determination, dignity, and quality of life.

Position: Direct Support and Program Coordination (not required to reproduce strong formatting; keeping language exact as provided would be content in the job description). The role involves creating a learning environment for adults with developmental disabilities, designing instruction methods based on measurable objectives, maintaining client progress records, analyzing learning barriers, and developing alternative instructional plans. The position may require travel to client homes, work sites, or community settings. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating individualized service delivery and resource development for client-centered service needs.

Responsibilities
  • Creates a learning environment for adults with developmental disabilities to function more independently at home, in the community, or at work sites.
  • Designs instruction methods based on measurable objectives.
  • Maintains records of client progress and analyzes barriers to learning; creates alternative instructional plans.
  • Travels to and works with clients in homes, work sites, or community settings as needed.
  • Coordinates individualized service delivery to clients and develops resources for client-centered service needs.

Qualifications and Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience or interest in working with adults who have developmental disabilities at varying functioning levels.
  • Comfortable using technology: Microsoft Office, smartphone, web-based time clock.
  • Flexible schedule with some early morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours may be required.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to person-centered thinking and inclusivity.
  • Sensitivity to and respect for the rights and needs of individuals served; ability to relate to them as dignified and competent individuals.
  • Clear oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid California driver’s license, safe driving record, and current proof of insurability if driving on agency business.
Physical Demands
