< p>Eyeball Factory is a performance marketing and creative agency for DTC brands in health, wellness, supplements, and skincare. We produce the full funnel — ads, advertorials, and VSLs — measured in one thing: sales from cold traffic. The founders have built and exited their own e-commerce brands and write copy themselves; you will be working with people who know the craft. p>
The role
You will write video sales letter scripts for our clients — 3 to 10 minute VSLs that run as paid traffic and carry the whole funnel. Hooks, leads, unique mechanisms, proof stacks, offers, closes. Plus the shorter formats around them: ad scripts, advertorials, and landing copy when needed.
This is a craft role. You will work from real customer research and VoC data, study winning VSLs in the niche, and iterate based on what the ad account says — not what feels clever. Your copy gets produced, launched, and measured within weeks.
Remote · Full-time · US (EST) working-hours overlap required · Base salary + performance bonus
Who you are
- A student of direct response. You have studied the greats — you know what a lead is, why the mechanism matters, and how an offer is built. Hopkins, Sugarman, Halbert, Agora-style structure — this is your world.
- Hook-obsessed. You know the first 15 seconds decide everything, and you write 20 hooks to find the one.
- Research-driven. Your copy starts in customer reviews, forums, and VoC data — not in your imagination.
- Numbers-aware. You want to see hold rates, CTRs, and conversion data on your own work, and you revise based on them.
- AI-native. You use Claude, ChatGPT, and similar tools daily to research, draft, and iterate — while keeping the judgment human.
- Fast and coachable. You ship drafts quickly, take direct feedback without ego, and revise fast.
What you will own
VSL scripts
- Write VSL scripts end to end: hook, lead, story, mechanism, proof, offer, close.
- Write variations: new hooks and leads on winning bodies, new angles for new audiences.
- Work with our video team so the script survives production intact.
- Mine reviews, surveys, forums, and competitor funnels for the language customers actually use.
Supporting formats
- Ad scripts and static ad copy congruent with the VSL.
- Advertorials and landing copy when the funnel needs them.
Iteration
- Review performance with the media buying team: where viewers drop, what converts.
- Treat every launch as a test — log learnings so the next script starts smarter.
Must-haves
- Experience — Proven direct response copy experience with work that ran as paid traffic
- VSLs — Have written VSL scripts (or equivalent long-form sales copy) that went live
- Portfolio — Samples you can share and results you can speak to
- AI — Daily use of Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent in your workflow
- Availability — Remote, with working hours that overlap US Eastern Time (EST)
Nice to have
- Health, wellness, supplements, or skincare niche experience
- Advertorials, listicles, and quiz funnels
- Awareness of Meta/TikTok compliance for health claims
This is not for you if
- You write 'brand copy' and call it direct response.
- You've never watched a VSL all the way through, taking notes.
- You defend a draft instead of testing it.
- You need a week for a first draft.
Your first 90 days
- 0–30 — Deep in the research docs; first hooks and ad scripts live; first VSL drafted
- 31–60 — First full VSL produced and running; iterating on drop-off data
- 61–90 — Owning VSL output across clients; your scripts beating the controls they replaced
