Stonehenge Capital in New Haven, CT is seeking a Director to lead its Direct Investing team and manage Connecticut-focused funds. Qualifications

• Minimum 8–10 years of investment origination experience in lower middle market.
• Strong credit underwriting experience for non-bank transactions.
• Must have deep Connecticut business network and referral sources.
• Demonstrated ability to build enduring client relationships and discuss financing options.
• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field.
• High ethics, integrity, and team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop business for Stonehenge funds by originating senior stretch, mezzanine and equity investments in CT and the region.
• Represent Stonehenge in Connecticut with an existing referral network.
• Originate new investment opportunities through marketing to referrals.
• Collaborate with regulators to ensure compliance.

Position Summary

Stonehenge is currently seeking a Director in New Haven, Connecticut, to join its Direct Investing team. This position will be a leadership position on the team and will include management of Connecticut-focused funds. The group provides senior term credit, subordinated debt, and equity investments to operating companies and invests capital through its second SBIC, as well as state and federal economic development programs.

Responsibilities Include

Focus on business development for multiple Stonehenge funds providing senior stretch, mezzanine and equity capital in Connecticut and the region.

Represent Stonehenge in the Connecticut marketplace through a strong existing referral source network.

Originate new investment opportunities through marketing to key referral sources.

Work closely with regulators to ensure regulatory compliance.

Desired Experience and Skills

A deep network within the Connecticut business community and a minimum 8-10 year track record of originating investments in lower middle market businesses.

Familiarity with credit underwriting for non-bank transactions.

A strong work ethic and self-starter mentality, with the ability to create enduring relationships.

Solid interpersonal skills.

An ability to discuss financing options with business owners and management teams.

Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a relevant field of study.

The highest degree of ethics and integrity and a “team player” mentality.
