The Direct Hire Staffing Manager is a full-desk role responsible for developing client relationships, securing direct-hire job orders, and placing qualified candidates. This position manages the recruiting process from client prospecting and intake through candidate presentation, offer negotiation, and placement.
The role is accountable for meeting established business-development, production, gross-profit, activity, and quality goals while supporting Amtec’s mission of helping companies build high-performing teams and helping people find meaningful work.
Core Responsibilities
Business Development and Client Management
- Identify and develop prospective clients through outbound calls, email outreach, referrals, networking, social media, existing relationships, and other approved business-development activities.
- Build relationships with hiring managers, human resources professionals, executives, and other decision-makers; communicate Amtec’s value proposition; and convert hiring opportunities into qualified direct-hire job orders.
- Grow existing client relationships, negotiate fee agreements within established guidelines, and maintain accurate prospect, client, job-order, next-step, and expected-revenue information in the ATS or CRM.
Client Intake and Search Management
- Conduct detailed client capture meetings to understand the position, business need, required qualifications, desired outcomes, compensation, work environment, interview process, and hiring timeline.
- Evaluate job orders for strategic fit, fillability, compensation competitiveness, client commitment, profitability, and likelihood of a successful placement.
- Develop and manage the search strategy, including the position profile, job posting, screening criteria, scorecard, sourcing plan, ATS documentation, and ongoing client communication.
Candidate Sourcing and Assessment
- Partner with internal and offshore sourcers by communicating search requirements, providing timely feedback, and refining sourcing strategies; source candidates directly when necessary.
- Screen and evaluate candidates through resume review, interviews, structured questions, references, portfolios, and other relevant job-related information.
- Assess candidate qualifications, accomplishments, career goals, employment situation, compensation expectations, location, availability, motivation, and overall alignment with the position and client.
Candidate Presentation and Interview Coordination
- Present qualified candidates to clients with an accurate resume and professional summary of their experience, accomplishments, motivation, availability, compensation expectations, and overall fit.
- Coordinate and prepare clients and candidates for telephone, video, and in-person interviews; promptly gather feedback and address concerns after each interview.
- Maintain consistent communication with all parties and accurately document submissions, interviews, feedback, and next steps in the ATS.
Offer, Placement, and Follow-Up
- Guide clients and candidates through compensation discussions, competing offers, counteroffers, resignation timing, start-date coordination, and other offer-related matters.
- Coordinate approved pre-employment screening, onboarding requirements, offer acceptance, and placement details with the candidate, client, Human Resources, and appropriate internal departments.
- Follow up with the client and placed candidate after the start date to support placement success, resolve concerns, and monitor applicable guarantee periods.
Performance and Accountability
- Achieve established individual direct-hire production, gross-profit, business-development, job-order, activity, and quality goals.
- Maintain sufficient prospecting activity, client opportunities, active job orders, search activity, and candidate pipeline to consistently meet performance expectations.
- Maintain complete and timely ATS or CRM records, participate in performance and pipeline meetings, and develop knowledge of assigned industries, occupations, compensation trends, and market conditions.
Job Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in recruiting, consultative sales, account management, professional services, customer service, or another high-touch, performance-driven environment.
- Demonstrated ability or willingness to prospect for clients, conduct outbound outreach, build professional relationships, uncover hiring needs, communicate value, respond to objections, and ask for business.
- Strong communication, interviewing, organization, follow-up, negotiation, relationship-management, technology, and multitasking skills, with demonstrated initiative and accountability for measurable results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct-hire staffing, agency recruiting, executive search, staffing sales, or full-desk recruiting experience.
- Experience developing clients, obtaining job orders, and managing searches from client intake through placement.
- Experience with applicant-tracking systems, CRM systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, sourcing tools, and professional-level client and candidate communication.
