Job description

Direct Client: GIS and Website Developer @ Jackson, MS - REMOTE

We are currently hiring candidates who are authorized to work on our W2.

Candidate with previous state/client experience is preferred.

Provide GIS and website development technical support to the agency in its projects funded under the Office of Mississippi Physician Workforce (OMPW), specifically under MS Code 41-123-1 (2023). Goals include: (a) assessing current physician demographics and distribution in Mississippi; and (b) evaluating current and future physician workforce needs.

Projects include:

• Designing dynamic, interactive GIS maps to visualize physician workforce shortages and underserved areas.
• Developing a user-centric, mobile-responsive website for OMPW, focusing on accessibility.
• Embedding interactive geospatial dashboards showcasing real-time physician workforce data and geographic trends.
• Implementing tools to generate custom reports by region, specialty, and workforce indicators.
• Maintaining effective communication with agency staff to support projects, meet deadlines, and stay aligned with project goals.
• Assisting in collecting, organizing, and leveraging large datasets across multiple subject matters for better accessibility and analysis.
• Maintaining and enhancing physician workforce datasets in compliance with OMPW's statutory mandates.
• Ensuring data integrity and accuracy for public use and reporting purposes at state and federal levels.
• Supporting the creation and management of project timelines.
• Assisting with data management using tools like data lakes, warehouses, lake houses, catalogs, etc.
• Migrating existing website to a new hosting location and updating it as directed.
• Migrating GIS services to ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Migrating the existing Mapper application to a new hosting location.
• Converting Licensure data as directed.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS enterprise tools.
• Familiarity with MS government and/or physician workforce data.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with governmental data modernization or project management.
