Southwood Behavioral Health Associates

Southwood is seeking Behavioral Health Associates to work with adolescent patients in the Choices residential treatment program, located in Bridgeville, PA. All shifts are available.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Demonstrate urgency regarding patient safety and provide excellent customer service.
  2. Ensure the well-being of patients and maintain a positive, supportive, and structured environment.
  3. Conduct safety checks and supervise patients at 15-minute intervals or as per individualized guidelines.
  4. Document clinical information accurately and timely in patient records.
  5. Assist in providing a safe and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  6. Interact with patients, observe behaviors, and communicate significant observations to nursing staff.
  7. Assist with activities of daily living such as toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, and linens.
  8. Obtain and document vital signs, height, and weight as assigned.
  9. Facilitate educational and rehabilitative groups on topics like social skills, coping skills, and anger management.
  10. Engage patients in activities aligned with treatment goals.
  11. Complete necessary documentation and assist with incident follow-up and paperwork.
  12. Coordinate or provide transportation for patients when needed.
  13. Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude, addressing patient concerns and prioritizing safety.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Six months or more experience with the specific patient population preferred.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • CPR, de-escalation, and restraint certification required (training provided upon hire).
  • First aid certification may be required based on state or facility policies.
