Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is hiring a full-time Certified Disabilities Aide at the East Shady Oaks location. You will assist adults with developmental disabilities and support daily living activities in a residential setting, with emphasis on safety, dignity, and person-centered care.

Week 1/2 schedules are provided, with overnight shifts and weekend coverage. The position offers competitive pay at $21 per hour, a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, 11 holidays, sick

Responsibilities

• Monday: 11:00 p.m.–8:30 a.m.
• Tuesday: 11:00 p.m.–8:30 a.m.
• Friday: 11:00 p.m.–8:30 a.m.

Week 2 Schedule

• Tuesday: 11:00 p.m.–8:30 a.m.
• Wednesday: 11:00 p.m.–8:30 a.m.
• Thursday: 11:00 p.m.–8:30 a.m.
• Saturday: 8:30 p.m.–8:30 a.m.

Essential Functions

• Assist clients with activities of daily living.
• Driver and escort clients to outings, appointments, and other places in the community.
• Safely complete client transfers per facility protocol.
• Perform various housekeeping tasks.
• Implement client individual habilitation plans.
• Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.

Position Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check clearance required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to meet extensive physical requirement of the position.
• Demonstrated ability to read and write in English in order to complete required documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
• Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
