Overview
Familiar Roads Home Health Care Agency is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Workers (D.C.W.) to join our team in Quakertown, Montgomery County. Under supervision, you will provide essential assistance with personal hygiene, nutrition, environmental support, feeding, dressing, and other daily living activities to individuals in need.
This range is provided by Familiar Roads Home Health Care Agency. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Base pay range: $13.50/hr - $13.50/hr
Responsibilities
- Personal Services: Assistance with bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, and nail care; routine skin care and lotion massage; helping with positioning, eating, dressing, walking, and toileting; medication reminders.
- Homemaking Services: Meal planning and preparation in accordance with dietary needs; light housekeeping, laundry, and linen changes; grocery shopping and supply management.
- Compliance: Follow universal precautions and confidentiality standards; execute the tasks outlined in each Consumer’s service plan; respond to physical, emotional, and developmental needs.
- Administrative Functions: Document daily activities and report any incidents or changes in the Consumer’s condition; attend annual in-service education as required; maintain accurate and timely submissions of reports and activity sheets; adhere to agency policies, Consumer rights, and state regulations.
- Functional Abilities: Ability to carry bundles weighing up to 10 pounds upstairs; capability to stoop, bend, and travel to the Consumer’s residence; strong hearing and communication skills in English.
Qualifications
- Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Successfully pass a competency exam developed by the agency or another entity meeting PA regulatory requirements.
- Complete a training program developed by the agency that aligns with PA state requirements.
- Finish a training program meeting standards through agency participation in a Medicaid Waiver or other publicly funded program.
- Complete a program identified by the PA Department of Health and listed in the PA Bulletin or on the DOH website.
- Demonstrates good hygiene and neat personal appearance.
- Speaks, reads, and writes in English.
- Holds a current CPR certification.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
