Job summary

The State of Ohio is seeking a Therapeutic Program Worker at the Gallipolis Developmental Center in Gallipolis, OH. You will provide direct care and assist residents with daily living skills, supporting independence and goal achievement.

Responsibilities include helping with eating, bathing, hygiene, dressing, and communication; facilitating activities in gym, pool, and community spaces; and completing daily/monthly documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• STNA certification and/or listed on Ohio Nurse Aide Registry.
• Valid driver's license if transporting consumers.
• Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment as noted above.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with eating, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, communication.
• Implements active treatment activities such as gym, pavilion, activity room and pool.
• Assists with planning and shopping activities (e.g., shopping, vocational skills, hair appointments).
• Complete various daily, monthly documentation; Including documentation any unusual incidents or reporting any reaction to medication.
• Perform light housekeeping duties in the living areas.
• Assists with redirecting unsafe actions to bring about positive outcomes.
