Job summary

Community Horizons is seeking a Direct Care Technician to assist with daily living activities and provide compassionate, hands-on care in a home setting.

You will support ADLs, transportation, meal prep, medication administration, and personal care while fostering learning and community engagement for a long-term relationship.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with adults with disabilities, non-verbal individuals and behavioral issues a PLUS
• A compassionate, patient, energetic approach to caregiving
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable and mature
• The ability to be encouraging and supportive

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming
• Transport to and from day service program as needed
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor changes in condition
• Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary needs and assist during meals/snacks
• Teach and support learning of new skills
• Provide community integration opportunities based on interests and abilities
• Maintain a clean, safe home environment through regular cleaning and tasks
• Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being and build trust

• Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with my dietary needs and assist me during mealtimes/snacks
• Teach and support me with learning new skills
• Provide community integration opportunities based on my interests and abilities
• Maintain a clean, safe home environment through regular cleaning and household tasks
• Provide emotional support and companionship to promote my mental well-being and build a trusting connection to the world around me

Experience

• Previous experience working with adults with disabilities, non-verbal individuals as well as behavioral issues a PLUS

Requirements

• Must have a driver\'s license and reliable transportation

Schedule/Hours: - MondayThursday, 2:00 pm 9:45 am - Friday at 2:00 pm through Monday at 9:45am - Additional daytime hours may be available-information available upon interview (2:00pm-7:00pm) - Flexible scheduling optionschoose shifts that fit your lifestyle - Both day and overnight shifts available Wage $16.50 per hour for dayshift- plus a mileage reimbursement of .35 per mile, overnight shifts offer a flat rate stipend of $50.75 This position needs someone who is looking for a long-term role and knows the importance of building connection and rapport
