Job summary

CARC Inc in the United States seeks a Direct Care Support Worker to provide guidance and support to residents with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. You will help residents build skills for independence, safety, and daily living, while promoting a safe, inclusive environment.

The role requires flexibility for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays; prior experience with disabilities is desirable.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in residential settings is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse populations.
• Ability to respond calmly in crisis situations and solve problems.
• Good organizational and time management abilities; able to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to document accurately and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with residents to ensure safety and well being.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meals, personal hygiene, and chores.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement individualized plans.
• Facilitate group activities and events to promote social engagement.
• Support residents in developing independent living skills like budgeting and transportation.
• Monitor progress and report concerns to the supervisor.
• Foster an inclusive environment that respects diversity and self-advocacy.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards in residential facilities.

Job Summary

As a Direct Care Support Worker you will provide a key role in providing support and guidance to individuals who have developmental disabilities living in a residential setting Your primary responsibility will be to assist residents in developing the skills and knowledge necessary to live independently and lead fulfilling lives Working closely with a diverse group of residents fostering a safe and inclusive environment that promotes personal growth and empowerment This position includes morning evenings weekends and holidays

Starting pay

1650 additional differentials incentives and bonuses applicable for hourly rates above 1650

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a positive and supportive relationship with residents ensuring their overall well being and safety
• Provide assistance and training to residents in daily living activities including meal preparation personal hygiene and household chores
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for residents
• Facilitate group activities and social events to encourage social interaction and community engagement
• Support residents in developing and enhancing their independent living skills such as budgeting transportation and job readiness
• Monitor and document residents progress and behaviors reporting any concerns or incidents to the appropriate supervisor
• Foster a culturally sensitive and inclusive environment that respects and values the diversity of residents and promotes their self advocacy
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of care governing residential facilities

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age
• Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a residential setting is highly desirable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish rapport and effectively interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Demonstrated understanding and respect for the rights and privacy of individuals in a residential setting
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in crisis situations demonstrating problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in basic documentation
• Must pass NM Department of Health background check and drug screening
