Job summary

CARC, Inc. provides direct care support in a residential environment for individuals with developmental disabilities. You will help residents build daily living skills, pursue independence, and participate in inclusive activities that promote growth and safety.

The role requires a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Starting pay is $16.50 per hour, with incentives and bonuses for higher rates, and opportunities for advancement within a supportive team.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Experience with individuals with disabilities or in residential settings is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Respect for rights and privacy in residential settings.
  • Crisis management and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in basic documentation.
  • Must pass NM Department of Health background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a positive and supportive relationship with residents, ensuring well-being and safety.
  • Assist residents in daily living activities, including meals, hygiene, and household chores.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement individualized plans.
  • Facilitate group activities and social events to encourage community engagement.
  • Help residents develop independent living skills, budgeting, transportation, and job readiness.
  • Monitor and document residents' progress and report concerns to the supervisor.
  • Foster a culturally sensitive and inclusive environment respecting diversity and self-advocacy.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards governing residential facilities.

Job Summary

As a Direct Care Support Worker, you will provide a key role in providing support and guidance to individuals who have developmental disabilities living in a residential setting. Your primary responsibility will be to assist residents in developing the skills and knowledge necessary to live independently and lead fulfilling lives. Working closely with a diverse group of residents, fostering a safe and inclusive environment that promotes personal growth and empowerment.

This position includes morning, evenings, weekends and holidays. Starting pay: $16.50, additional differentials, incentives, and bonuses applicable for hourly rates above $16.50.

Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a residential setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and effectively interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated understanding and respect for the rights and privacy of individuals in a residential setting.
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in crisis situations, demonstrating problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in basic documentation.
  • Must pass NM Department of Health background check and drug screening.
