Job summary

MBI Health Services in Washington, DC is hiring Direct Support Professionals to join our residential team supporting adults and children with developmental disabilities. You will help with personal care, daily living skills, and community engagement in a home-like setting. Starting pay is $17.95 per hour.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Phase I and II orientation training approved by DDA completed.
  • Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication.
  • Physical ability to assist with personal care and light housekeeping.
  • Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with personal hygiene, daily living activities, and medication administration as directed.
  • Create and maintain a safe, comfortable living environment for residents.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals in their homes.
  • Accompany residents on community outings and recreational activities.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and perform light housekeeping duties.
  • Implement and monitor individual care plans, ensuring personalized support.
  • Conduct monthly fire drills and maintain safety protocols.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of client activities and progress.
  • Collaborate with team members and healthcare professionals to ensure quality care.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards at all times.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Immediately report any malfunction of equipment to the Residential Manager.
  • Collect all mail from the properties relative to utility bills, court notices etc, and submit to Residential Manager.
  • Ensure that during inclement weather and other emergencies all preventative and safety precaution activities are implemented as outlined in company policies.

MBI Health Services is looking for compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals to join our residential team supporting adults and children with developmental disabilities.

In this role, you’ll make a direct impact by helping individuals with personal care, daily living skills, and community engagement in a supportive, home-like setting. Experience working with individuals who use wheelchairs or driving a handicap-accessible van is a plus, but not required. If you’re patient, dependable, and ready to make a difference...you belong here.

Starting Pay: $17.95 per hour.

Available Shifts:
  • Saturday through Sunday between 7:00AM – 7:00PM
  • Saturday through Sunday between 7:00PM – 7:00AM
  • Monday through Friday between the hours of 3:00PM – 11:00PM
