Royal Community Support is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist an individual living in Cedar Grove, Essex County, NJ. This community-based role involves in-home and community participation, focusing on dignity, independence, and engagement.

The DSP will provide consistent, compassionate support in a one-on-one setting, following person-centered plans and helping identify meaningful activities in the community, including a volunteer opportunity at a comic bookstore.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Reliable personal vehicle (community-based support required).
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
• Authorized to work legally in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with daily living skills (bathing, dressing, grooming as needed).
• Supporting housekeeping tasks (laundry, dishes, tidying, light cleaning).
• Preparing meals according to dietary needs.
• Teaching and reinforcing independent living skills.
• Following individualized service plans and behavior support strategies.
• Providing transportation to appointments and community activities.
• Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities.

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an individual living in Cedar Grover, Essex County, NJ.

This is a community-based position. The DSP will provide support in the individual's home and assist with safe, structured participation in community activities.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, patient, professional, and comfortable working independently in a one-on-one setting.

Our approach to services is person-centered, meaning we focus on the individual's preferences in what they would like out of services.

Seeking a consistent and dependable DSP to accompany him to his volunteer opportunity at a comic bookstore and help identify other enjoyable, engaging activities in the community. The family is easygoing and supportive, but consistency and reliability are important. The ideal DSP will be patient, personable, and interested in helping him explore activities based on his interests

12:00pm -3:30pm

7 hours a week

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
