Royal Community Support – Hackensack Branch is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one, community-based support for an individual in Bergenfield, NJ. The role includes assisting with daily living skills, transportation to appointments, and encouraging participation in social and recreational activities within the community.

Starting pay is $22–$28 per hour; it is part-time, in-person support.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Reliable personal vehicle (community-based support required).
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
• Authorized to work legally in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with daily living skills and personal care as needed.
• Supporting housekeeping tasks (laundry, dishes, tidying, light cleaning).
• Preparing meals according to dietary needs.

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an individual living in Bergenfield, Bergen County NJ.

This is a community-based position. The DSP will provide support in the individual’s home and assist with safe, structured participation in community activities.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, patient, professional, and comfortable working independently in a one-on-one setting.

Our approach to services is person-centered, meaning we focus on the individual’s preferences in what they would like out of services.

He loves spending time at the park and has a strong interest in animals. A DSP who can help him explore community activities centered around these interests would be an ideal fit.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday
• 10:00am - 3:00pm
• 5 hours shift
• 25 hours a week
