Job summary

The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) in Massachusetts seeks a Direct Care Worker II (DCW II) to provide shift supervision and direct services to individuals with developmental disabilities at the Templeton Community Services Program. The role combines hands-on care with leadership responsibilities, supporting rights, safety, and meaningful activities.

The schedule is 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM, with Fridays and Saturdays off, and the position requires willingness to work mandatory overtime

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health and safety practices and evacuation procedures.
• Ability to plan, assign, and coordinate the activities of others.
• Ability to give written or oral instructions in a clear and understandable manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal care and nutritional needs.
• Support individuals in making life choices.
• Maintain individuals' rights by complying with laws and regulations.
• Provide leisure activities and transport to work, appointments, and recreation.
• Provide daily supervision and training to Direct Care Worker I staff.
• Oversee health and safety as shift supervisor and administer medications.
• Communicate with medical providers regarding health concerns.
