Job summary

Sentara Internal Medicine and Primary Care in Waynesboro, VA is seeking a Direct Care - Registered Nurse to join our team on a full-time schedule (40 hours/week), 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday–Friday.

The RN will assess patients, create and implement care plans, administer medications, monitor responses, educate patients and families, and coordinate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Virginia or Compact Multistate license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• RN Diploma, ADN, BSN, or MSN required.
• All Direct Care RNs require BLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and document findings.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocols.
• Monitor patient responses and escalate changes as needed.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and post-discharge care.

• Shift Time: 8a to 4:30p
• Monday through Friday schedule

Description:

The Registered Nurse will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of patient care, including conducting thorough assessments, designing and implementing personalized care plans, administering medications and treatments, and evaluating patient responses to interventions. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity throughout the treatment process.

In this role, you will educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health. You will monitor and record vital signs, observe changes in patient conditions, and respond promptly with appropriate interventions. Utilizing sound clinical judgment, you will address complex health situations, consult with medical team members as needed, and document all care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Licensure & Certification Requirements:

• Current Virginia RN License or Compact Multistate RN License in good standing
