Job summary

Sentara Family Medicine Physicians Lorton is seeking a Direct Care-Registered Nurse to join our team in Lorton, VA. The role features full-time hours (40/wk) with shifts 8:00 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and a potential sign-on bonus of up to $10,000. The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive patient care, including assessments, care planning, medication administration, patient and family education, and coordination with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective

Qualifications

• Current Virginia RN License or Compact Multistate RN License in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess/admit patients and perform rounding checks.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Coordinate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments and post-discharge care.
• Document care and outcomes in the medical record per standards.

Schedule

• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Shift Time: 8a to 4:30p
• Monday through Friday schedule

Description

The Registered Nurse will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of patient care, including conducting thorough assessments, designing and implementing personalized care plans, administering medications and treatments, and evaluating patient responses to interventions. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity throughout the treatment process.

In this role, you will educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health. You will monitor and record vital signs, observe changes in patient conditions, and respond promptly with appropriate interventions. Utilizing sound clinical judgment, you will address complex health situations, consult with medical team members as needed, and document all care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Licensure & Certification Requirements

• Current Virginia RN License or Compact Multistate RN License in good standing
